Locked out of your home
A lockout is stressful, especially late at night or with children or pets inside. Call 818-942-3093, tell us the address and the kind of lock, and we'll give you a quote and an estimated arrival. Our technicians use non-destructive opening methods wherever the lock allows, so in most cases the lock keeps working afterwards. If a lock has to be drilled, we tell you first and explain the replacement cost.
Rekeying and new locks
Rekeying changes the pins inside a lock cylinder so that a new key works and every old key stops working. It is the usual choice after moving into a new home, losing a key or ending a lease, and it costs less than replacing the whole lock. We can also rekey several locks to work with one key, so the front door, back door and garage side door share a single key. Read why you should rekey when moving for more detail.
If a lock is worn, damaged or simply too basic, we can install a stronger deadbolt, a high-security cylinder or a keypad or smart lock. We work with brands including Yale, Mul-T-Lock, Falcon, ASSA and Schlage. Our article on choosing deadbolt locks explains the main differences.
Apartments, condos and rental buildings
Valley Village has many apartment and condo buildings. For tenants we handle lockouts and, with the landlord's approval, lock changes. For owners and property managers we rekey units between tenants, set up master key systems and replace mailbox locks. See our apartment lockout guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can you open my door without damaging the lock?
In most cases, yes. Technicians start with non-destructive methods. If the only option is drilling, we explain why and quote the replacement before going ahead.
How long does rekeying take?
Rekeying a standard lock usually takes far less time than replacing hardware. The total depends on how many locks you have and their type.
Do you install smart locks?
Yes. We can install keypad and smart locks and advise on models that fit your door.
